About Gillian

Gillian spent 6 years at Art College and went on to work in textile design in Paris. On her return to England, she developed her own textile consultancy firm with customers including Courtaulds, Liberty, Cavendish Textiles, Carrington Vyella and Parker Knoll, and sold designs in Europe and the USA. Her work has been shown in House and Garden and on exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum (London). She currently specialises in painting, and has developed a highly personal and attractive style that filters through her rich and memorable oils, watercolours and acrylics. Gill takes commissions of all types - landscapes, still life, murals, and also designs greeting cards. She exhibits at venues close to her studio in Lymington, Hampshire, and often has work in the Hampshire Open Studios Event. Gillian runs workshops and classes for students of all levels - she has held workshops for the Society of Amateur Artists, schools and societies and has demonstrated for the artist materials company Daler Rowney. She has been sponsored to write on acrylics and to test new materials; also she has had articles published on watercolour painting techniques. Gill’s son, Charlie Easton, is a successful landscape artist based in Vancouver, Canada and they both have joined with the Federation of Canadian Artists for some of their adventures.
